# Reporting and recording corrections

## What to send

- the record ID or file and field (for example `gw2005-iclm-2004-02-26-2004-02-26`, `released_value`);
- what is wrong and what you believe is right;
- the evidence: a page of the original paper, a source-package value, an official release or other primary record;
- whether you are one of the original authors or are reporting on their behalf.

Contact for corrections: **https://vultax.com/contact**. Include the edition and affected record or slice.

## What we do

1. Check the claim against the original package and the cited evidence. We never change a value on the strength of a later revised series alone; the edition records announcements as made.
2. Log the result with an ID (`GW-NNN`) in `CHANGELOG.md` and `data/corrections.json`: affected edition, records and fields, what changed and why, the evidence, and whether values, interpretation or citation changed.
3. Issue a new edition number when anything changes, regenerate checksums, and keep the earlier edition available unchanged once anything has been published.
4. Credit the reporter if they wish.

A correction from the original authors is recorded as theirs. It does not make this edition reviewed or endorsed by them, and accepting a correction never depends on agreeing with any analysis.

## Current status

Edition `0.3.2` was published on 2026-10-25 by Christopher Geneth Kurg. Corrections GW-001 to GW-012 are listed in `CHANGELOG.md`; those after the first pass came from an independent internal review, not from the original creators. No external correction has been received.
